Outside linebacker LaVar Arrington practiced on Wednesday and Thursday this week and remains listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams said Arrington's playing time could increase this week.
"What we'll do is, we'll have a set bunch of plays for the ball game and we'll have to wait and see what style the Cowboys play," Williams said. "But there's a chance [his playing time] could increase."
Arrington returned to action last Saturday in San Francisco after missing 11 weeks recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and recorded one tackle. He saw limited duty, seeing action mostly in packages depending on the offensive alignment.
Lemar Marshall, who has started the last 12 games in Arrington's absence, is still listed as the starter on the Redskins' official depth chart.
Meantime, cornerback Shawn Springs has practiced both Wednesday and Thursday as well. He remains listed as probable on the Redskins' injury report and it's likely that he will be available for the Dallas game.
"Shawn's practiced very well," Williams said. "Unless there's a setback in the next day or so, I don't think there'll be any problem with Shawn playing a lot this week."
Springs missed last Saturday's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a concussion suffered in Week 14.
Also listed as probable are: H-back Chrisey (calf injury) and left tackle Chris Samuels (ankle).
The Cowboys report only one injury on their weekly injury report: linebacker Al Singleton will not play in the game due to a groin injury.
It is expected that he will be replaced in the starting lineup by Scott Shanle, a second-year linebacker who has played mostly on special teams.
