We should go after Jurevicius

jurevicius would fit here for more than just his talent--he's a character guy, something gibbs wants when he makes a signing. he has been through so much, and instead of taking vengeance on society for the bad hand he was dealt, he made it positive and projected it into a pretty darn good resurrection of a career.

I for one would not be opposed to bringing him in as our number 2 receiver. he's faster than people give him credit for, and he's got good hands and obv. like everyone has said he's a big body. i think he'd be a perfect fit here, and with saunders here, who took 3 mediocre receivers and had the best offense in the league, he could really flourish into the 60+ catch guy we need.

My fellow brethren, I think everybody is jumping the gun just a little bit. David Patton is a solid #2. Have a little faith. Let the guy hold his job for at least another year before we give him the down side of the slide scale. Yes I would agree, his reception totals were not the best. But lest you forget, before he went out with a knee injury, he was drawing defenders away from Moss and Brunell was having a Pro Bowl/resurgent year.

wasn't rubbing it in chris, just saying that for two years in a row he's not getting much love from the redskins fans. Would love to see him though. He won't be as cheap as last year but danny boy will still have enough cash to put those ads in the post.

I think patten is going to be a good number 2. But players get hurt. Like this year, when he went down, we didn't have a quality #3 to step up. Depth is the most underrated thing in football. That's why this year, despite all our injuries in the secondary, we still had a great defense. I think all the secondary signing we did in the beginning of the year was great. Getting guys like peirson and omar stoutmire and tony dixon to compete for a safety spot really left us with great choices. We choose pierson and it worked out great. Would like the skins to do that this year with recievers. Maybe draft one, sign two or three good but not too expensive guys, let them all compete and see who wins out. Between the new guys, Thrash and Jacobs we could put together some good depth. At least push jacobs a bit and make him fear for his job safety.

Consider the draft, and consider somebody unlikely. Say a college QB who ran the option offense. Fast enough, ready to take hits. One of the old SEC coaches, like Bear Bryant, used to recruit high school QB's and convert them, saying that the QB was usually the best and smartest athlete on the team, even if he wasn't a good passer. Then consider Randle El.
