I miss you 21.
God I wish we had a second round pick.

If we do get draft picks for Smoot and Pierce, they will be likely in the fourth or fifth round or so. The NFL has never released their formula for how they determine the picks, so it's hard to guess exactly.
We also can't tell you when the Redskins draft either because the final draft selection order has not been determined. The NFL will likely release the full official order some time after this weekend when the final selection places are determined.
The Redskins don't have a 1st or 4th round pick in 2006 because of the jason Campbell trade, so they will have selections in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th rounds plus any compensatory picks that they may be granted. Their selections will be in the 22 slot or so if each round. So their first pick will be something like the 54th overall.

This guy has figured out how to calculate compensatory picks.

Lots of people have broken it down... and come close... but nobody ever gets it 'quite' right... the formula is as secret as how Cadbury gets the caramel inside the chocolate.
I used a few of these 'close' references to determine that Smoot and Pierce would likely yield 4th and 5th round picks.
If you search the board, there's an actual breakdown somewhere on here that is actually better and more accurate than the one listed above.

We also get Carolina's 6th round pick (I believe) because of the Gardner trade. That is obviously not going to be a high pick considering how well they are doing in the playoffs right now.
