Ugly Ugly Win

Post by Justice Hog »

Wow. Did we even break 100 yards on offense?

Seriously, it was an ugly win agains the Bucs...but....you know what they call a team that has 4 ugly wins in the playoffs, don't you?

SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS

Honestly, I don't care how this team does it. How pretty they are doing it.

JUST WIN BABY!

I watched the game with my best friend (a Cowboys fan). I told him if the Skins somehow manage to get to the NFC Championship game, I will do what ever I can to secure us 2 tickets and I'm flying us both out to the game....whereever it is.

That was our ulgiest offensive performance of the year! but we still WON! and that is key. Seattle will over look us, I know because they feel they should of won the last game in our house and also because our terrible game against the bucs. I bet you their mind set is, we got'em let's start thiniking about who we might play in the NFC championship game. I really think winning the way we did with a terrible offenseive performance will help us to victory the next game.

Any win is Beautiful to me.  Don't judge the beauty of a victory by the performance of the offense. It's a team sport, so look at the beauty of the defense taking the game over.

I think the offense will be found in the Great Northwest.

As good as Seattle is as a whole, the defense isn't at the Bucs' level.

That's the greatest bit of truth to ever come from the mouth of Al Davis.

We will need a good amount of offense in Seattle and we will get it also, beacuse were due for a good offensive performance and also seattle D does not really scare you. We just played the best D in the NFL and we won.

Dude. If this happens, you'll have to PM me with the details about your hotel, etc. We should hook up and hang out and celebrate our Redskins the night before the big game! If possible, maybe we can even buy our tickets at the same time so we can all sit together. Watcha think?

Everybody on ESPN was making a big deal out of this low offensive output. But when you're up 14-0 like that in the playoffs on the road, why would anybody expect us to be slinging the ball around.

I'm not saying that the offense was beastly yesterday. But all things considered, I don't see why its a big deal. We've proven the last few weeks we can put up points.

I agree, riggofan.

I might be worried if we hadn't put up 30+ points in the last three weeks of the season in meaningful games against division rivals.

Or if we hadn't put up 13+ points in 10 out of our last 10 games (with 4 of those games being 30+ point games).

Or if we didn't have any offense against Seattle the last time that we played them.

Or if the Bucs had been anyone but the #1 defense, or if we hadn't had that huge lead at halftime which guarenteed a lot of running in the second half.

Or. . . .

We may not win, but it's hard to feel like our offense is somehow non-existent just because they had one bad game against a top-ranked defense. This isn't 2004 anymore.

After the ifrst quarter we weren't even trying to score. We ran the ball twice as much as we threw it and Portis barely played. We ran every first and second downs and often on 3rd downs as well. We just knew that our defense was so good that we were definately going to win unless we did dumb things on offense. If we would have needed to we could have racked up a lot more yardage and points but we weren't trying to do that, we were just protecting the ball. Tampa knew what was coming every play but that didn't matter we just stuck to the gameplan and ground it out. I am really not worried in the least about the offensive output, we all know this team can score if it needs to. In this game it was our coaching staff that shut down the offense and not completely the Bucs' D. Considering how well our defense played it was the smart thing to do. Also, now the Seahawks have nothing to watch on tape because we threw out 80% of the playbook after we went ahead 14-0.
