http://On ESPN News John Clayton just said the Eagles have told Owens he is suspended for the year. They suspended him with pay so they can work out an agreement .
Clayton stated that he was told by Managment that Owens will not play again for the Eagles again this season or any. They just want to move on without him.
They suspended him with pay so they can work out a financial aggrement so he can go to another team after the season.

don't even
I'm dispapointed hes not playing today. I wanted Lavar and Sean Taylor to play a little 'Red Rover' with T.O! (You've all seen that commercial right??)
I hope this doesn't motive the Eagles to produce just to prove their worth. Our D's gotta be on their game today.

Don't know if anyone heard this or it was posted but it was revealed in the last few hours I guess that T.O actually got into a physical altercation in the locker room with Hugh Douglas. So that was a factor in his suspension.

There was also a news clip during the games that HE HAD NOT BEEN SUSPENDED. According to a statement attributed to Andy Reid, he has been declared just INACTIVE.
So, we may not have heard the last of this mess. Andy may want the Skins guessing until game time.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens had a fistfight with former defensive end and current team ambassador Hugh Douglas. The fight occurred in front of several of his teammates. According to one of the sources the Owens-Douglas fight "was like WWE Smackdown." Another source said both men threw at least two punches during the altercation and when it was over Owens challenged QB Donovan McNabb first and then everyone else in the room saying, "You want some. Anyone else want some." The Eagles refused to comment about the situation, other than the statement that revealed Owens' suspension. Owens and Douglas have been at odds since training camp and almost got into an altercation in an elevator at Lehigh University.

I think it's just a matter of technicalities and logistics with this. The story on NFL.com -- http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/PHI/9025191 -- clearly says 'suspended.'
But as far as how to designate a player's game status, I think 'inactive' is the only place they can go with Owens tonight.
