I cannot believe what I saw on Sunday

Post by zr0hero »

Brunell sacked (and intercepted), Betts fumble, Cooley fumble, Moss fumble, turnover after turnover. Defense allowing 200 rushing yards.

This is NOT the Redskins team I know and love. But I'll just chalk this one up as a fluke. Plus, I suppose the Giants were playing with a chip on their shoulder.

What a slaughtering that game was.

Ugh. Eager to forget...

But make no mistake, I'm behind the skins all the way !

Yes, the turnovers did us in. There was absolutely no chance for us to control the clock.

That may well be, but Eli's 53.1 rating hardly indicates that it would have happened through the air. My 2 cents

Plus, it seemed like the turnovers came at the most crucial moments, namely, when the offense was just starting to develop a rhythm.

We got waxed and mopped up. That was pathetic but Every team gets one bad loss at least. If this starts happening on a consistent basis then we got problemos
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

The root of our problems in that game was the ineffectiveness of our OLine. They killed us. If they play like they've played all year long, we don't have 3 plays and a punts all day long. We give our defense time to rest, we move the ball, Brunnel has time to find someone open, etc... We stay in the game and at that point, the whole game is different.

As I get older and watch more and more football, I realize that the OLine is everything to a team. You can not be good in the NFL, or at any level, if your OLine stinks, it's impossible.

The old saying -- A good defense is a good offense..that is so true.

The question is -- what happened to our OLine yesterday? They've played so well so far this year...that was the most pathetic showing I've seen since last year. Did this Mara thing pump up their DLine and our line was not ready?

Their defense is horrible, they didn't do anything unusual to fool us -- guess they just didn't perform.

Not one person looked like they gave a damn and the result is predictable when you play like that.

I went to the game. I didn't even have a good time -- except for the tailgating. I have never been embarrassed to be a Skins fan. Yesterday I was. Worst game I've seen in 22 years of watching.

Welcome to the site pete4221977
I'm a lifelong Skins fan but I'm not embarrassed to be a Skins fan. I'm a mad Skins fan, I'm just trying to narrow the list of people I'm mad at.

It's tough to be mad at Gibbs. But he can be frustrating because he never gets mad about things and is a little too optimistic. I watched today's press conference on Redskins.com. If that is the docile attitude he is showing his players, he's not lighting a fire under their you-know-whats.

I hope I'm missing something.

Thanks for the welcome -- it's great to find this forum.

Gibbs seems like that in public. Ive been told he's a terror behind closed doors and was known to throw furniture in his first stint as a skin coach.

In that case, I hope they got the kitchen sink thrown at them from a second-story window. They need it!

Another bad thing about the Redskins losing is that you never hear Gibbs talking about being "blessed by the Lord" in the locker room talks with the press. What could he say? "Sorry guys, Jesus really dropped the ball on that one."

If it's any consolation, he does ask listeners to "pray for the team" on a weekly basis during his radio show on Sportstalk 980. [-o<
