my first one was providian. they charged a yearly fee of $49.95, and 23.99% apr, :puke:
but i was only eighteen. so i guess it helped in the long run by getting a few years of current status under my belt, to help my overall score later.

i suggest that you shop around if thats an option. you should be able to get out at around 14.99% or less if you've got a decent credit score.

Get Citibank Dividend card...they give you 1% back on all purchase and 5% back at grocery stores, drug stores and best of all GAS stations. I'm earning money back left and right because of the gas prices being so high...and it's a necessary expense...so you might as well get some $$ back.

all i have now is a GM card. being that i buy a work truck every few years, it really helps out. 5% back on ALL purchases. i max it out and pay it off every month. this year so far i've earned about $600 towards my next truck.
