R.I.P D. Hill

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

Today, actually about 5 minutes ago my day came to an end. Football, something Ive been yearning for the past few months just seems to insigficant.

My boy Darrell was killed last night in a car accident. I was told that he was attempting to avoid hitting a motorcyclist, hit a guardrail and flipped his car.

I went to college with D and he automatically gave me his friendship and I returned mine the same. Aside from God, Darrell Hill is a main reason I got through college. Darrell got e through calculus and advanced alegebra. The school hated our class. They usually got real adults and weren't used to a bunch of kids out of H.S. Man...I'll finish this later.

We had this cat from Russia called Leonid who hacked our schools servers and filled it with porn. I can't count how many times they took away our network connectivity. We corrupted 2 out of 3 of ours professors. They would play Age of Empires and Half Life, whats better than having a LAN party at school with your teachers? We would run to McDonalds and other places on our breaks, wed pack into our cars and do some of the craziest stuff that you'd ever believe.

FOOTBALL! I had some of my best pick-up games with Darrell. D is about 2 inches taller than me and about 30 lbs. heavier and he swore he could hang with me. Darrell ran me over plenty of times when he played RB but couldn't cover me to save his life. We'd go to Ballys together and work out in recent weeks.

I think what really hurts is that life is becoming very apparent to me. As a kid you kinda live in this imaginary world, you dont really realize the kind of stuff that life can throw at you. Darrell and I had plans to start a business together and go back to school together and get out bachelors.

I think the funniest thing that happened was how the professors could never pronounce his name correctly. I would enforce their wrong ways and eventually it stuck. Nobody in the school said his name correctly. At graduation they forgot to call Darrells name. I stood up in the middle of the ceremonry and yelled out "you forgot Darrell hill!". So the guy was like "who?" and I said his name the wrong way as loud as I could and Darrell was never really correctly acknowledged for his college degree. His mother threw a fit!

Its going to be hard to deal with this one.
*Its crazy how you get a lump in your throat, the weird thing is Im not even talking.*

R.I.P to one of my best friends... [-o<

If you believe in the after-life... then you know that he's in a better place, and you know that he's wants you to keep your chin up....

so even though it's going to be hard for awhile... keep your chin up for him...

Chris, I am so very, very sorry to hear of the loss of one of your best friends. Please know you are in my thoughts.

I found your post very moving and very appropriately in celebration of the life, not the death. It's through celebrating his life that he will live on in your heart.

So sorry for your loss.

I finally read the article today on the Suns site and I guess it finally got real to me. I still dont think it'll hit me until the funeral. Ive been at such a lost of words lately with everything. Thats kinda why I haven't been posting. I don't even really know how to articulate how I feel about this. I wish I could send all the love, support, wishes, prayers and comfort that you've sent to me to his family. I reflect on how I feel and I can only imagine how intense it must be for his mom.

Oh, Chrissy. That sucks, man.
You know what you have to do now, right ? You have to carry on, and do as you would have done were your man still there, egging you on. That's the best way to remember him, and to honor him.
Be strong, and be there for his mom. The moms take it very, very hard.
Trust me on this.
