NCAA '06
Did anyone on the board pick this up today?. I got the Xbox version and, I must say it's a pretty good game. Lots of improvement over '05. Definite must buy!

I rented that today, and it has it's highs and lows.
The idea of race for the Heisman is cool and all, but they made it pretty corny.
I signed up for MLB and all that happens is you run one little drill, and then you are given a few colleges that have offered you scholarship (I got #8 Lousiville, #11 Miami, and Georgia)
So I picked Miami and then you go to a dorm room. It's pretty cool, you have like a computer and stuff. But I skipped all that stuff and went straight to the game. When I started I was backup, behind #17(who I believe is Willy Willliams, the guy whose gone to jail like 11 times). So I put myself in, and then it's just like a regular game. I mean, there is nothing special about it.
I thought that you would only play as that guy, but yet you can still line up as a DLine or Safety. And I thought I would only play Defense, but I also play Offense. So really, it is basically a Franchise mode, but you are just trying to boost one players stats. Kind of wierd since you play as just one person the whole time, except when you are playing a game!
As for Dynasty Mode, I can't really explain anyting like upgrades because I have never played NCAA before. However the year round recruiting system is sort of cool, but it takes a while.
I probably won't buy it since it's 50$ and I don't follow College as much as the NFL. But if you get interested in College football or actually want to play the game and spend time to be good, it should be a good game for you.
