Jabari Holloway

Post by skins fan in nj »

Holloway's listed as the 2nd or 3rd team tight end. I watched him play for four years in college. He's another talented player who went undeveloped because of poor coaching. I think with Gibbs & Co. mentoring him Holloway should have a breakout season.

Where'd he go to school? Do you really think he'd play over "Cooley & The Gang"?

Well since Holloway is NOT a H-Back he will not be competing with Cooley. Right now he is the #2 TE with Royal being #1.

Holloway went to ND. ...Gibbs may not use tight ends as receivers that frequently, but Holloway definitely can catch. He would be a good option in the red zone.

True dat. This is looking nice; with so many options for the short red zone plays, we MUST be able to score better down there this year than last year.

I wish people would catch on the fact that Cooley is not a TE and shut up about Gibbs not using a TE to catch passes. Gibbs better damn well use a TE to catch passes. Cooley can't be the only possession receiver on the squad. How many passes did Holloway catch his senior year?
Let me guess? Crapoola? We need the real thing, not a project.

Yeah but after signing Manuel White Cooley might move to tight end, if Manuel comes along good, whats the point of having a weak tight end and 2 good h backs?

well as we all know Gibbs doesnt use TEs as receivers very much, and Cooley is a great kid who can catch the ball very well. But he is not a great blocker, so no he should stick at H-Back.

Why do people keep saying this...that doesnt mean that he a tight end cnt catch passes in a Gibbs offense, how would it hurt to have another guy with hands at tight end and one who can block?

Robert Royal caught at least 3 TDs last year he is rhe starting TE going into camp. If Holloway makes the team or not may very well depend on how many TEs Gibbs decides to keep on the roster. Right now I'd say he is thrid on the roster, behind Royal and Billy Baber.

Will the addition of fullbacks take away from the number of TEs that make the roster.
What do we do with Brian Kozlowski and Michael Sellers.

I see Holloway more focused on making the roster than wining a starting spot.(which in the end may cost him that spot) My 2 cents

The next guy who says anything about Gibbs not needing a TE who can catch the ball is going to be mysteriously run down by my truck.

With the return of starter Robert Royal and the addition of Holloway and Baber, Gibbs doesn't need a pass-catching tight end.

I just read that we have Robert Royal, Billy Baber, and Holloway at TE. They all can catch the ball, which is the better blocker will termine who is on the field and when.

It would be wrong to run Jake down with your truck unless you can prove Gibbs needs another Pass catching TE

I'd like to see some video on redskins.com on the TEs. I've never seen this guy Holloway play.

And even if he COULD prove that we need a pass catching tight end, it would still be wrong to run me down.

Yes but Gibbs uses TEs to block, Cooley is a much better catcehr than he is blocker

Only five teams had double digit touchdown catches from their tight ends in 2004.
They were ...
San Diego (Antonio Gates and Justin Peelle), 15
New England (Daniel Graham, Christian Fauria and LB Mike Vrabel), 11
Indianapolis (Dallas Clark and Marcus Pollard), 11
Kansas City (Tony Gonzalez and Jason Dunn), 10
Washington Redskins (Chris Cooley and Robert Royal), 10

So whatever Joe is doing with the TEs/HBs it's working
