Mock Draft
Edwards No.1 overall are you all joking. Cadiallac not goint to the Bucs.
At this point its all a guess, but if the top 8 goes the way that you have predicted I'd be surprised to see us pass on Pac Man Jones, Dan Cody, or Shawn Merriman to take a TE. Everybody has their guess, and I learned last year that just because we see it a certain way doesn't mean that is how it will shake out. So, anyone could be right.

Ok So the Draft is coming up and i would be rather suprised to see the 49ers take Braylon Edwards first. What I think that the Redskins need to do is to shoot for Mike Williams, why? He is a huge physical receiver who can get us Redzone TD's I mean he can just about jump out of the stadium. So now you have Mike Williams as a number one with Santana Moss as the number 2 (which i think he would flourish at) Then you have Patten who can stretch the field as well. And to top it all off you put Darnerian MCCants on the other side. Everybody hates on him but I love the guy to death he is a great athlete. But we also have to fill the empty spot at Corner and me being the biggest Sean Taylor fan, I have no problem picking up another player out of the "U"

I agree I would do everything I can to get Mike Williams

Once and for all...yes just about 80 percent of us would love to have Mike Williams, we've been saying that since the season ended, but so would a bunch of the teams picking ahead of us. He very well might not be available by #9. Then what do we do?....sit around ala Mike Tice and miss the pick?
I feel you guys on Mike Williams, but do you have any other opinions if he and Edwards are gone, which is very possible? There are other talented receivers in the draft, and if we have learned any lesson (cough Rod Gardner) they don't have to be drafted in the First Round. Sure fellas, everyone likes Mike Williams, he's a beast, but it may be out of our hands.

I agree with the idea of San Fran not taking a QB. It seems more logical to take a RB like Brown, Cadillac or Benson, or a WR like Edwards or Williams, then acquire a vet QB, and possibly draft a young QB later in the draft or the following year to develop for the future.
A rookie for the 49ers at QB would be a disaster, they have holes in their d-line, and no running game. It is hard to succeed as a young QB against those odds unlike (Rothlesberger) who played on an excellent team.

Everyone's welcome to their own opinion, our mock draft is just a coupla guys' opinions. It's all subjective and I think that's a big part of why the draft has become so popular. It lets everyone feel like a GM for a coupla hours of their life.
It's also only the first mock and we will do a couple more. But if ANY of us could make the selections with any CERTAINTY... we'd be scouts.
I will also add that everyone bases these opinions on the so called 'experts' opinions of the players themselves. We do not. We use our own critrion for ranking players... we rely on our PERSONAL take on players not someone else's, and they don't always match up with the experts opinion. But we're trying to judge talent, not regurgitate whatever kiper says.
The Hogster -- you might as well have been in on the conversation we had about the 9ers because that's essentially EXACTLY what we said between us.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
I whole heartedly agree with the idea of the 49ers not taking a QB. I've thought that all these mocks that have then getting Aaron Rogers were wrong. They do need a QB but niether Aaron Rogers or Alex Smith are worth the #1 overall $$$$'s. If they choose one of those guys they will end up stuck with them making tons o' cash!
Yes, Boss you are right that most of us base our opinions of the draft on what the experts say. I personally don't have the time to watch all of the College games to get an opinion about guys that are coming from small schools. I don't really know any schools rosters inside out. So, I have to base my opinions on scouts and Kiper. Its good that we have some people who can (or simply decide to) do the scouting so that we can have a different opinion.

If they take Derrick Johnson at number 1, I will be very surprised. I don't think he is even top 10 material IMHO.
RIP 21

Draft
I think we would all like to see us get a strong possession receiver like Mike Williams, but receiver is not our most pressing need anymore. We need a short yardage running back that can get those tough yards that Clinton proved that he can not. If we can trade down and get more picks, we can probubly get a good blocking TE and a good strong Boss Hog type short yardage RB.[/img]

Yes if both of the wide receviers are gone by pick 9 which very well could happen, then i say we go after Antrell Rolle we need to solidify the corner and he could be an immediate impact
