Does Gibbs even want a wr?

Post by truskinsfan18 »

Mel Kiper has us drafting mike williams, and although I would like that, im starting to think were deviating from that plan...Gibbs likes those little guys and I think he may be satisfied with our Wr group right now, and may not pursue a Wr in teh draft...but I really hope he does not overlook Mike Williams

I say we trade down, get MClayton and also a CB.

The glory days of the Gibbs' Skins era was before my time, but I'm pretty sure his big names were Riggins, Monk, the Hogs, etc. These weren't "little guys." Gibbs might just be downplaying his want of a big receiver to keep their market price down.

 You have a valid point; I hadn't considered that he might be down playing things for the draft.

As for Clayton, I would love to see him in a Skins uniform but he too is on the small side. If the coaches feel Gardner or McCants can step it up this year and build with them for the future than I say go for Clayton. However, I'm not sure if they can so I'd rather draft a bigger WR. I'm not sold on Williams’ attitude, does anyone have the scoop on B.Edwards? He's 6-3/206 and runs a 4.45

I still think we are going to draft a WR with our 1st pick. If Williams is there, he has to be picked up by us. We still need a big, physical WR.

my money is on a cb. without one, our d is screwed; no pass rush and no shutdown corner. bledsoe will have all day to hit anyone he wants. but i would LOVE to have mike williams.

The only receivers we'd possible select are Edwards and Williams. It would make absolutely no sense to draft a speedy Clayton/Williamson when we now have similar receivers in Jacobs, Moss, and Patten.

If we don't sign Smoot then I have no doubt we will go for DB. And getting Rolle (for less money :P) would probably be an upgrade over Smoot.

I don't think we're drafting a CB in the 1st round. It's not like Smoot was a shutdown corner and is hard to replace. With all the illegal contact rules, I don't think it's crucial to have a shutdown CB at the #2 spot. I'm willing to bet money that we don't draft a CB in the first round, unless Edwards, Williams, and Williamson are gone.
