Emmitt To Retire... wants to buy Vikings.

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Emmitt To Retire... wants to buy Vikings.

Emmitt retiring, joining Fowler

Saint Paul Pioneer Press
Feb. 1, 2005

Look for future Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith to announce today his retirement from the Arizona Cardinals to join Reggie Fowler's investment group that is trying to buy the Vikings. Fowler's group also includes local automobile dealer Denny Hecker.

They're going to buy the team, Smith will be the frontman for the cameras, and they'll move the Vikes to San Antonio. :D

I know... Only 937 yards rushing with 9 TDs on the ground alone. Not much help at all.

He really wasnt. I didnt mean as far as stats I mean as far as elevating the team to a winning record or the postseason.

That was his goal, and he did not accomplish it.

But at least the Cards can say they had Emmitt on their roster.

Only so much a 13 year vet can do when he has no help

I must as I can't stand the guy....his leadership probably meant more to that young team than anything else.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

Hey, I watched some of those games!

The did the best they could. Where they messed up was with the McCown benching, other than that they would have been straight.

I already knew Emmitt was denying it, but I don't think he plans on coming back.

I'd say it's 60-40 right now.

I'd rather just sign him to the one day contract and get it overwith

So, the question now is...is Emmitt a first-ballot HOFer?? I think he is a shoe-in.

Yes.

Another "prime" (pun fully intended) example of a player staying around two seasons too many.
Darrell Green was another.

Yes, he's a first timer for the HOF but he's still a puke!

Whats with the whining about not being finished? You were done before this century. Thanks for the memories, some good some bad, typical puke!

HOf for sure but I personally think he stayed too long!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
