So at some point we're going to have to pay one of these guys. Allen or Payne. Which one gets the big $$ extension to stay here or does either?
Yeah, that's the sad reality. I'd be shocked if we let both of them go, though. One at most gets to free agency, IMHO.
It's hard to say which of the two ...

Can't disagree with anything on your list, Boss.
I think with Sean Taylor, history might not really appreciate what we fans were seeing in the year he passed away. He was going to be one of the game's greatest, and we got to see it, ever so briefly. There was something different in that season ...

Just wanted to say I've missed this site. Despite being able to connect with people on Facebook, etc., it's not the same.
I don't know if folks will come back around, but I'll be here if they do.

JP Finlay reporting the Redskins won't pick up the option and have informed Doctson of that.
You can't say he earned the option. I hope for his sake and ours that he plays like a 1st round pick this year.

I don't mind it at all. Very few numbers should be retired. Very few.
I can respect the "protected" practice, but if a number is protected for 2-3 decades and you don't decide it's worth retiring, then put it back in circulation. We've already seen that the size of the set of Redskins' protected ...

I don’t remember who said it but when we drafted RG he said if the Skins miss on him it would set the franchise back 10 years. Well here we are in year 7 and we are still trying to solve our QB position.
I remember that too and I think he was totally mistaken. RG3 set us back a good 3-4 years but ...

The trade to grab Sweat seems OK to me. I'm assuming he was really high on our scouts' board, and in the last few years I've grown to trust our judgment . . . a little.

I'm not a huge fan of them always tinkering with the rules but I like this one. Hopefully it passes. Offensive players have been given way too much of an advantage.

Not a bad move by the Skins. We're getting him damn near free: swapping a 6th for a 7th rounder and only paying $3.5 million for a year of service. He'll make more money off the Broncos than the Skins next year.
That said, I think this price reflects how likely he is to be The Answer at QB for us ...

Kind of surprised its a two year deal given his age, but I agree it was a no-brainer to bring him back if he was up for it.
I like it. A two-year deal shows him we still respect what he brings to the table, and at this point respect seems to be worth a lot to him.

I'll be honest its hard for me to imagine how we afford any top tier FAs this offseason. But its looking like Giants won't tag Collins this offseason and (weirdly) some are reporting that he WANTS to be here:

It sends a message, but to me the message is one of desperation and a locker room that's gotten out of control. Not a good sign at all that we released him.

Re: Gov. Hogan has signed MOU for new Redskin stadium
It would be a bad loss to use public money for a football stadium. Baseball teams play 80 home games a year, while NHL and NBA teams play 40, and soccer teams play about 18. The Redskins play 8 home games and a couple of pre-season games. If Snyder wants to build a stadium in the District, let him ...

They've got the right attitude, don't they? Not to mention the talent to go with it.

Skins were 20 pass plays to 35 run plays yesterday btw. 220 yards passing, 166 yards rushing.
In the NFL today, a 50/50 ratio is pretty much "committing to the run." When you are up by 20 points at halftime, certainly you'll end up running more by default. But I think not mixing it up with some ...

I agree with the predictability part. But I also find this criticism frustrating. Fans are constantly demanding that the team commit to the run, and saying they want to get back to Redskins/The Hogs style football. But when they do, everyone bitches that there are some three and outs.

At least the mystique and lies about season ticket holders and sold out games is officially busted. Time to move on and see if the Skins can earn some rabid fandom.
