listen, i posted this because it's very relevant to our season. gibbs quit football - bagged even his tv gigs - to focus on nascar. and since he returned to the skins, his star is acting way out of line. if you can't see the relevance of that, and decided to say something ignorant about nascar, just ...

with this years new playoff system in nascar - specifically designed to compete with the nfl - it will be interesting to see how gibbs handles it. both of his drivers will be in the nascar 'race to the championship'.

i would be willing to bet that he had that in mind when he hired such an ...

Gibbs' NASCAR headache

For those of you who don't follow NASCAR, Gibbs' star driver Tony Stewart has been throwing some sort of 'I miss Daddy' tantrum this season. See the link below.

I'm hoping Coach Gibbs doesn't get sucked into this full time. Even if he does, I'm not worried. He's talented enough to handle all of ...

I hear ya' . . . but, I'd have given you the same odds that Gibbs would never coach in the NFL again, much less the Skins.

Who knows. Everybody loves an underdog and the 2nd string QB. Remember Babe Laughenberg (sp?) - he looked like a starter in camp too every year. We'll have to fire up this ...

interesting about hassleback. after the second mini-camp, gibbs said he was surprised by some of the performances of players who you wouldn't expect to start. i read in a report that hassleback was the best qb of the three in that last mini-camp (washington post i think). of course, patrick is just ...

Oafusp said a smart thing. Post this kind of ex-skin movement in the NFL news forum. IMO once a player has been let go, traded, or quit by signing with another team - they are no longer worthy of attention in my burgundy and gold dominated world.

King makes Taylor retraction

Check it out. A retraction from King about Taylor in this weeks CNNSI article. Good for him for coming clean:

If I had a Hall Of Fame Ballot, Monk could write Gary Clark on it for me before I turned it in.

Good point, Boss.

But anytime we talk about who played where last year we should put an * by it to be fair . . . the D was coached by a Division II coaching staff last year, after all.

And to iffy lovers out there, if he was so 'worthy' why'd they draft a safety with the 5th overall pick and ...

Maybe I'm missing something here, but what's with the love this guy gets on this bbs? He's a backup safety with limited skill. That's too many backs for an opening season roster.

I agree with oafusp - Betts has the potential to be a the kind of #2 who teams without a good back will want to sign for their #1 back.

Sean Taylor doesn't want to be a Skin?

This is from Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback article posted today on CNNSI.com.

6. I think I'm hearing ominous signs out of Washington that first-round pick Sean Taylor does not want to be a Redskin. But I wouldn't expect Joe Gibbs to be too worried. He'll figure this one out.
