As you note, there was improvement. If there's consistent improvement - particularly against that Raven's D - I'll be mollified enough heading into the season.

I guess the negatives - the incessant penalties, the special teams failures, the weak offensive line play - stood out early and really ...

Boy, it shouldn't be hard to find progress after a 20-0 whipping.

I guess I don't care about wins or losses in preseason, but our season hinges on Patrick Ramsey (unless anyone is a big Rob Johnson fan out there). I'd like to know we have us a QB and we don't know it yet.

I'd like to see ...

Many, many thanks to skinsfan and the others who took the time to post their observations of the team for those of us who couldn't be there.

I'm just relieved we don't have to play against The Terror of the Offensive Line, Brendan Stai, since he retired yesterday. :>)

I thought the front office had confidence in it's young defensive linemen when we released BDW. Signing Cannida has the stench of desparation about it.

Seems to me that we'd be better off letting the kids like Greg Scott and Bernard Jackson and Del Cowsette some playing time. Unless someone ...

Great report. It's nice to hear about a noticeable difference in our PK over years past (I was really sick of Conway).

How did you like this camp as opposed to Carlisle?

Also, sorry you didn't get to see Darnerian - I understand he's got a pulled hammy. I recall speaking to him at camp ...

Some Props For BossHog, The Reporter

The Bossman's been telling us in his reports that he observed Rob Johnson sucking pond water.

Did the Post ever report that? Did the Times? Paul Woody?

Fans reporting from camp point out that Rob Johnson isn't getting it done. So within a week, a new vet QB is brought in.

And this is ...

Great post, Boss. I've been hoping that somebody...anybody, other than Barker would step up and want to punt for us. It'll be interesting to see if the F.O. sees it as you do. My feeling is, 'Why keep a guy who's proved he can't do the job?'

It's startling to me to read that in a punt return ...

How's that offensive line? Aren't they the key to our season? Of course, I guess it's hard to judge them if they're going against a wretched defensive line, but only time will tell.

Bravo, Boss. I went up to Carlisle the past two seasons and reported back for my brother fans.

It troubled me that some pretty big name reporters for some first rate outfits got things wrong so frequently. And while I realize that there are subjective elements to watching football, it bugged me ...

"Really all I am doing is taking notes as I go. I'm no journalist and I'm just trying to give ALL of my observations and not take anything for granted as 'common knowledge'."

If I want to read 'journalism', I've got access to the Post, Times, ESPN, and Lord knows what else. I want to read what ...
