SB XVIII Skins practice bugged

After reading the wikipedia article on the Tuna, I looked up Joe Gibbs':

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Gibbs

The following season (1983), Gibbs' surprising success continued and the Redskins once again won an NFC Championship, advancing to Super Bowl XVIII. The Redskins were ...

Re: Why is Ramsey Sacked so Often?

The Washington Post has gone to great lengths to slam Spurrier for failing to protect the quarterback. How many times have we read about how Ramsey (and his confidence) got battered thanks to Spurrier's incompentence? How many times have we heard that Gibbs is great because he makes protecting the ...

Re: Mike Barrow Not Starting?

Meanwhile, Williams said he's eyeing "four or five" candidates to start at middle linebacker, and rehabilitating veteran Mike Barrow wasn't among them. Lemar Marshall, Brandon Barnes, Brian Allen, fifth-round draft pick Robert McCune and sixth-rounder Jared Newberry appear to be in the mix.

I ...

Brunell's release won't save us any cap space. In fact, it would cost about $5 million in cap space because his SB would accelerate.

Don't forget that because of free agent movement when The Dan ny first bought the team we ended up giving away a first rounder that the Vikings used which netted them Daunte Culpepper.

I wonder if he'd have been a nice pickup for us that year ? Hmmm....

Anyone remember giving away all those ...

Re: Draft Trade/ Cap Reason?

I was wondering if the trade to Denver was made due to the large cap hit the skins will take next year? It sounds as if they are going to be short on funds to pay draft picks next year. This way they will have fewer picks to pay and a year to evaluate the number 1 they picked up.

This is my first ...

4th Round Trade with Vikings

There's been so much discussion about the trade with Denver, I feel OD'ed.

What do yall think about our other trade with the Vikings?

Here are the details:

Vikings get:
4th round, No. 112: Ciatrick Fason, RB, Florida

Redskins get:
4th round, No. 120: Manuel White, FB, UCLA
5th ...

I'm mindful of how we're going to sign a first rounder of any substance next year anyway without cutting half the team.We wont have a lot of money to sign a first, and just maybe that figured into their thinking in trading for the 25th this year.

I don't buy this argument. We are not signing ...

1) Denver didn't dupe anybody. The chart that the Skins relied on is used by every team in the league and was first developed by Jimmy Johnson. That's the way draft picks are valued now.

2) Gibbs went to visit Jason Campbell at Auburn the day they made the trade for the draft picks. That means a ...

Three things that bother me about the Draft

Since I know very little about evaluating college football players, I will not comment on player selection. However, there are 3 incidents leading up to and during the draft that really bother me:

(1) Trade with Denver: I think our triumvirate of Gibbs/Snyder/Cerrato got duped by Denver into ...

Does everyone on this board feel absolutely certain that

they really wanted another player (e.g. Matt Jones) but
he was no longer available?

My guess is that Len was right ... but I ...

Anybody watched an Auburn game last year???

Four Auburn players were selected in the 1st round.
The Redskins selected two of them.

If you have watched one or more Auburn game (either
in person or on TV) in 2004, please offer your opinion
of Campbell, Rogers, Brown, and/or Williams.

oafusp, I disagree with your method of counting.
You're doubling counting. We never wouldv'e had
the 2005 1st if we didn't give up the 2006 1st, 2005 3rd &
2006 4th.

By your method, Cooley cost us the 2005 2nd and
the 2004 3rd. This is obviously wrong. Cooley only
cost us the 2005 2nd.
