Smoot returned to the Redskins in 2007 after two years with the Minnesota Vikings. He was originally drafted by Washington in the second round (45th overall pick) of the 2001 NFL Draft. He was a solid corner for four seasons.<\/p>\n

The cornerback then spent two years with the Vikings, where he was part of the Love Boat scandal<\/a>. Well actually Smooty Toots was apparently the ringleader, or was at least said to have been the one who hired the boats for the cruise on Lake Minnetonka.<\/p>\n

He plead guilty to disorderly conduct and agreed to pay a $1,007 fine and perform 48 hours of community service.\u00a0NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello said fines were likely, but Smoot would not be suspended. The NFL ultimately imposed a fine equivalent to one game’s salary against Smoot –\u00a0$82,352.<\/p>\n

Football wise he was a solid corner there. He was involved in a car accident in 2006 and missed the lasttwo games due to a broken jaw.<\/p>\n

Washington snapped him up to days after the Vikings released him.<\/p>\n
