The Washington Redskins, and all other NFL teams, had until 9 pm last night to name their 53-man roster. As of 11pm, the Redskins had still only named 52 players. Obviously they have a certain player or position in mind, so they left a spot open, rather than have to juggle again later when that aforementioned player is acquired.<\/p>\n
So I guess it isn’t a ‘final’ roster, but here’s who made it:<\/p>\n

It was also announced yesterday that S Tanard Jackson had been suspended for substance abuse.<\/p>\n
Some moderate surprises like Tim Hightower, Bryan Kehl, and Anthony Armstrong, given that there were some rumors swirling yesterday that he might get dealt to the Dolphins for RN Steve Slaton. Brandon Banks making the list is a surprise to some, only in that he never did establish himself as a receiver as Mike Shanahan indicated that he would have to.<\/p>\n
Also some tough luck breaks for some youngsters like Markus White, Brandyn Thompson and Willie Smith – all 3 who are eligible, and will likely end up on the practice squad if they clear waivers.<\/p>\n
OL\u00a0Tom Compton was the only 2012 draft pick to not make the roster, but he will also likely be named to the practice squad if he clears.<\/p>\n
