The Redskins made a couple of depth moves today, signing offensive tackle James Lee, and re-signing defensive lineman Kedric Golston.<\/p>\n
Golston has been with the Redskins his entire six-year NFL career, and Washington knows exactly what they’re getting – a solid contributor that is versatile enough to back-up anywhere along the defensive front. He had 1.5 sacks in nine games last season before being put on injured reserve.<\/p>\n
With Golston, Stephen Bowen, James Jenkins, Adam Carriker, Barry Cofield, Chris Neild, and Darrion Scott – the Redskins would appear to be in good shape along the defensive line early in the offseason.<\/p>\n
Lee would appear to be a depth signing, but I don’t know much about him. He played in three games for the Bucs last year, but started just one.<\/p>\n
Cleveland signed Lee in 2008 as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina State. He was waived by the Browns, and claimed by Tampa Bay, where he spent the last four seasons. The 6’4″ 305 pound tackle played in 19 games, including 10 starts.<\/p>\n
Perhaps new Redskins defensive backs coach Raheem Morris saw something in Lee that he liked when he was the Bucs head coach, and encouraged Mike Shanahan to make the addition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
