Jacory Croskey-Merritt was Washington’s offensive engine on Sunday. He scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 15-yard run after the critical fumble recovery. Justin Herbert faced relentless pressure all afternoon. He was sacked four times, bringing his season total to 16 sacks in just five games. Sunday’s game delivered two notable milestones. First, Daniels became the fastest quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards, reaching the mark in just 20 games. Additionally, Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen caught his 1,000th career reception, surpassing Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison’s record in his 159th game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’m just gonna continue to try to be consistent,” Allen said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coach Dan Quinn was visibly pleased with Daniels’ decision-making throughout the game, remarking that Daniels showed maturity beyond the stat sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Knowing there was chances for him to let it rip, he absolutely did that,” Quinn said. “He’s just such a relentless competitor.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commanders return home to host the Chicago Bears next Sunday. The Chargers, meanwhile, travel to Miami. Washington will look to build on this momentum heading into the second quarter of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
