That good feeling this morning is real.\u00a0 The Redskins have continued the disciplined play that was the hallmark of their preseason.\u00a0\u00a0Stout at the point of attack.\u00a0 Gang tackling on defense.\u00a0 Redskins all around the ball.\u00a0 Disciplined pursuit.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Offense was a little rougher, but there was still running room when it was needed\u2026 enough to force the respect needed for play action…\u00a0 and an effective ball control passing game that, while missing on all attempts, took it\u2019s shots downfield.\u00a0 That will come.\u00a0<\/p>\n
London Fletcher picked right up where he left off… except with more intensity!\u00a0 After making a nice play near the goal line, he immediately started berating the goal posts… dude was as stoked as I’ve ever seen him…<\/p>\n
Grossman pretty much had the time he needed, and made none of the\u00a0gunslinger type of errors that he\u2019s known\u00a0 for (with one notable exception, when he failed to cover the ball when being sacked)\u2026 I\u2019ve heard some griping about him taking sacks, and not throwing the ball away\u2026 sorry\u2026 the gripers are wrong.\u00a0 Rex played those just the way he should have.\u00a0 Don\u2019t take stupid chances.\u00a0 There was only one occasion when he tried to force the ball when it wasn\u2019t there\u2026 he was being pressured from his backside (this was my main concern out of the game), and could have been picked\u2026 he lucked out.<\/p>\n
Tim Hightower… must be good to be home.\u00a0 Nothing outstanding, but he took what he could, and consistenly finished by falling forward.\u00a0 Even badly wounded, the Giants aren’t going to give up a lot of yards on the ground.\u00a0 Still, there was enough to make play action work.<\/p>\n
My concern?\u00a0 Backside protection.\u00a0 Trent Williams was schooled by a decent, but not great, DE.\u00a0 There was one play where it almost looked like he was doing his best Albert imitation\u2026 yeah, maybe that\u2019s not fair, but the kid has got to show some pride, and get this figured out.\u00a0 He should be dominating this type of player.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Reed Doughty is still game\u2026 love him\u2026 but he\u2019s just not a starter.\u00a0 Great tackler, great mind, knows what to do, rarely makes mistakes\u2026 but just not enough speed.\u00a0 We need to get Landry back into it.\u00a0 He will make a huge difference in this defense.\u00a0 At the same time, Reed led the team in tackles…<\/p>\n
Heart.\u00a0 This team has tons of it.\u00a0 There was no way they were going to lose yesterday\u2026 Up by only 7 going into the 4th<\/sup> quarter, you felt it\u2026 this game was not going to slip away\u2026 The Giants knew it, too.\u00a0 You could see it on their faces\u2026 you could see it in Coughlin\u2019s whining, and Manning\u2019s defeated expression.\u00a0<\/p>\n The times are changing\u2026<\/p>\n HTTR<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Nothing does it like victory.
