They also helped David Tepper buy the Carolina Panthers in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL would love for Bezos to be the one that buys Dan Snyder&#8217;s Commanders.\u00a0He already has a significant connection with the league, with Amazon being the exclusive broadcaster for <em>Thursday Night Football<\/em>. Amazon made waves becoming the first streaming-only option in league history.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Deep Pockets<\/h2>\n<p>Bezos is currently the third richest man on the planet with an estimated worth of approximately $117 billion. He would instantly become\u00a0the richest owner in all of sports. A title that currently belongs to Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer ($80.8 billion). Broncos owner Rob Walton is the NFL&#8217;s richest owner at <em>just<\/em> $59 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos can quite easily outbid virtually anybody.<\/p>\n<p>He currently owns The Washington Post and is of course, the former CEO of Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>The first round deadline for bids was just before Christmas. Despite reported interest back in November <a title=\"Is Dan Snyder Really Going To Finally Sell The Team?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.the-hogs.net\/blogs\/2022\/11\/03\/is-dan-snyder-really-going-to-finally-sell-the-team\/\">when the potential sale was announced<\/a>, the Amazon tycoon did not submit an offer. It was said then, that\u00a0rapper and Roc Nation founder Jay-Z was\u00a0to be involved in the ownership group.<\/p>\n<h2>Competition<\/h2>\n<p>As of right now,\u00a0private equity investor Josh Harris is believed to be the only other person in the running. He already owns the New Jersey Devils, the Philadelphia 76ers and Crystal Palace in England&#8217;s Premier League. He is apparently <em>only<\/em> willing to offer $5 billion for the Commanders, when Snyder is said to be asking for no less than $6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Todd Boehly\u00a0reportedly pulled out of contention in January. He is the co-owner\u00a0of the English Premier League&#8217;s Chelsea Football Club (as of 2022).<\/p>\n<p>There have been rumors of other interested parties such as\u00a0Washington Wizards and Capitals owner Ted Leonsis, Clearlake Capital co-founders Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano and media entrepreneur Byron Allen. However, no bids have been received from them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-hogs.net\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/billionaires.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-393057\" src=\"http:\/\/www.the-hogs.net\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/billionaires-640x800.jpg\" alt=\"Billionaire Buyers Club\" width=\"640\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Record Sale<\/h2>\n<p>In 2022, <a title=\"Forbes valuation of the Commanders\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/teams\/washington-commanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes valued the Commanders at approximately $5.6 billion<\/a>.
