The Washington Commanders meet the only unbeaten team in the National Football League in Week 10 – division rival Philadelphia Eagles. The 8-0 Eagles are coming off of a bye week, while the 4-5 Commanders are coming off of a heartbreaking last minute loss to the Minnesota Vikings<\/a>.\u00a0As if that weren’t tough enough for Washington, it’s the Monday Night Football game.<\/p>\n

The game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field – kickoff at 8:15 p.m. EDT – and can be watched on ESPN.<\/p>\n

This is already the second meeting of 2022 for the two NFC East teams. The Eagles dominated the first matchup<\/a>, winning 24-8 on the strength of a solid performance from Jalen Hurts, as well as a dominant showing from their defense.<\/p>\n

The Commanders will be led by quarterback Taylor Heinicke<\/a>, who fell from the Penthouse to the Outhouse after last week’s loss. How quickly Washington fans can turn on a guy. After leading the Commanders to two straight victories, Heinicke struggled against Minnesota and threw an interception in the fourth quarter that many fans point to as the play that spoiled Washington’s chance at a fourth straight victory.<\/p>\n

Head-To-Head<\/h2>\n

The two teams have met each other 175 times, with the Washington Redskins<\/del> Commanders winning 88 games and the Philadelphia Eagles winning 82 games. They have also had five ties.<\/p>\n

The Eagles have won the last three match-ups, including the game earlier this year, and both games last season.<\/p>\n

The 2022 tilt saw Carson Wentz square off against the team that drafted him, but he’d likely just as soon forget, as he was sacked six times in the first half alone.<\/p>\n

The last time Washington won against Philly, was on January 3rd, 2021 with Alex Smith at the helm. It was an ugly game from both teams with just 464 yards of total offense between the two teams. Hurts and Smith combined<\/strong> for an anaemic 234 yards passing, and Washington eked out a 20-14 victory<\/a>..<\/p>\n
