Okay, I get it, I get it. Sure those<\/em> Lions weren\u2019t the 0-16 Lions of last year.<\/p>\n

Sure those<\/em> Lions were only 0-2 this year.<\/p>\n

Yes those<\/em> Lions had 16 new starters, and a new head coach, but is that the best excuse we can come up with for why we lost?<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they were a good team; better than people give them credit for.\u201d That\u2019s our response?<\/p>\n

How are we ever supposed to beat \u201cgood teams\u201d if we console ourselves after a loss\u2026if we justify a loss by saying \u201coh, well, they were a good team.\u201d<\/p>\n

I guess the natural flow of thought from that is that we aren\u2019t supposed to beat \u201cgood teams.\u201d It is our destiny to lose to \u201cgood teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shouldn\u2019t we want to be the best team? Shouldn\u2019t the team think they are the best team? Maybe that\u2019s what\u2019s driving us all so crazy. It\u2019s subtle but it\u2019s there. We, the fans, believe the Redskins are \u201cthe best team\u201d but if you listen to the coaches and players, we are just a team, and if we lose it\u2019s because the other team was better than us.<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s the anger? Where\u2019s the accountability? For God\u2019s sake come up with something better than \u201cwell, they were a good team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blame it on the refs for all I care, but be upset about it.<\/p>\n

Joe Gibbs<\/a> was a master of taking responsibility; even if it was clearly the players\u2019 lack of execution, he accepted the blame. Jim Zorn\u2019s mantra seems to be \u201chey, I called the plays to work, but they didn\u2019t. If you can tell me which plays will work and which won\u2019t\u2026you\u2019re hired.\u201d<\/p>\n

Damnit Jim! These aren\u2019t exhibitions! Get your head in the game! You gotta understand that if the players fail to execute it IS your fault! Players are only as good as their coaches. You need to accept that responsibility, and then nail their position coaches for it. What\u2019s that old saying about excrement rolling downhill?<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve tried to \u201cstay medium\u201d and that\u2019s great when you\u2019re winning, but you are LOSING! Staying medium isn\u2019t an option anymore.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got to WANT IT! NEED IT! Be ready to fight and claw and even die for it if you have to.<\/p>\n

At the end of the game you need to be critical of what went wrong with YOURSELVES; not complimentary of the other team! You send the wrong message when you accept that the other team was \u201cbetter than us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sure Robert Henson had a point about how we (the fans) can\u2019t do what you guys do. Yes, we have our 9-5 jobs and some of us flip burgers for a living, but we have something that is sorely lacking right now, we have heart!<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t want to \u201cbe medium\u201d we want to be excited. I don\u2019t kick back on my couch to watch a relaxing day of football. If I wanted something to help me sleep on a Sunday afternoon, I could turn over to NBC and watch golf. So far it seems to have the same excitement level as watching the Redskins play.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got the Buccaneers next week who are coming in 0-3. After that we may see an 0-4 Panthers team; are we gonna accept losses to them as well? What happens when we start facing teams that have actually won a game this season? How about teams who have won more than they\u2019ve lost?<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t figure it out soon, we may be the ones waiting until the end of the season (when teams are benching their starts for the playoffs) before we get our next win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
