Forbes just released it’s list of Most Valuable Sports Teams<\/em> in 2021. Washington was ranked number nineteen. They were the eighth ranked NFL team. In 2010, the Washington Football Team was the third<\/strong> most-valuable sports team in the world.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes<\/a>, Washington’s current value is $3.5 million, and they have experienced a 23% increase in value over the last five years.<\/p>\n

That sounds decent enough, but when you compare it to an increase of 44% over the same period by the Bears, it’s not quite as flattering.<\/p>\n

Or how about the Los Angeles Rams who soared a massive 176% in that time? Granted, moving to Los Angeles and building\u00a0SoFi Stadium had everything to do with it, but the results were profitable.<\/p>\n

Although some of the NFL teams ahead of Washington on the list can thank their new stadiums for increases, there’s no denying that all seven of those teams experienced a growth of at least 37% in those five years. That’s 14% more than Washington.<\/p>\n

There are obviously various factors affecting the lack of growth for Washington’s value – ownership, branding issues, the sexual misconduct allegations, the minority ownership revolt<\/a>, a terrible stadium location – the list goes on and on.<\/p>\n

Those things create volatility, and a lack of confidence in the fan base.<\/p>\n

And that’s never good for the bottom line.<\/p>\n

Will the positive changes that Ron Rivera has seemingly been able to implement make a difference?<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly.<\/p>\n

A new stadium would make even more of a difference.<\/p>\n

What if Daniel Snyder became SOLE owner?<\/p>\n
