On Monday Washington made two roster changes, releasing wide receivers Jeff Badet and Trevor Davis. The move comes on the heels of Washington selecting two receivers in the draft<\/a> – Dyami Brown in the fourth round, and Dax Milne at the end of the seventh.<\/p>\n

Davis was signed to Washington’s practice squad last October. He spent time with three teams in 2019 – Green Bay, Las Vegas and Miami. He caught one pass for the Packers, and seven for the Raiders.<\/p>\n

Badet on the other hand, did manage to get into three games for Washington in 2020. He had zero receptions. The wideout was signed from the XFL, after spending 2018 on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.<\/p>\n

Before the two transactions, Washington’s receiving corps had ballooned to eleven players. The two draft picks are added to a corps that already includes: Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Adam Humphries, Cam Sims, Steven Sims, Kelvin Harmon, and Antonio Gandy-Golden.<\/p>\n

Covid protocols mandate that teams can only carry 80 players in the offseason<\/a>. Until last year, the old standard was 90. This may lead to many teams having immediate subtractions to go with any additions. It may also be the reason that Washington signed just one undrafted free agent.<\/p>\n
