The 2020 NFL Draft was the 85th annual meeting of the National Football League<\/a>. The Washington Redskins ended up making eight selections over the weekend, including the second overall pick. With that pick, they chose defensive end Chase Young out of Ohio State University.<\/p>\n

The draft was originally scheduled to be held in Paradise, Nevada, but was instead held via videoconferencing due to the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n

Here are the 2020 NFL Draft Selections for the Washington Redskins:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1st Round (2nd overall) – Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
\n3rd Round (66th overall) – Antonio Gibson, WR, Memphis
\n4th (108th overall) – Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU
\n4th (142nd overall) – Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty
\n5th (156th overall) – Keith Ismael, C, San Diego State
\n5th (162nd overall) – Khaleke Hudson, LB, Michigan
\n7th (216th overall) – Kamren Curl, S, Arkansas
\n7th (229th overall) – James Smith-Williams, DE, NC State<\/p>\n

The Cincinnati Bengals selected quarterback Joe Burrows with the first overall pick.<\/p>\n

That left Young for the Redskins, and allowed them to make him the very first defensive player taken in the draft.<\/p>\n

Young won many awards in his final season of college football, including both the prestigious Bronco Nagurski Trophy and the Chuck Bednarik Award.<\/p>\n

He finished with 30.5 sacks in three seasons. He ranks second all-time at Ohio State, behind only Mike Vrabel – whose 36 sacks were produced over four seasons.<\/p>\n

Traded their second-round selection (34th overall) to the Indianapolis Colts last year, in the deal that allowed them to select Montez Sweat in the 2019 draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Traded their 5th round selection to Carolina for quarterback Kyle Allen.<\/p>\n

Received a 5th round selection from San Francisco in exchange for Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams. They will also receive a pick in the 3rd round of 2021.<\/p>\n

Received a 5th round selection from Seattle in exchange for cornerback Quinton Dunbar.<\/p>\n
