— Redskins linebacker Rocky McIntosh suffered what the team is calling a mild concussion in last Sunday’s victory over Green Bay, and he did not practice Wednesday. \u00a0 Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said there were no signs of McIntosh’s concussion during the Green Bay game. “Just felt something on Monday, just a slight headache, Hopefully there’s nothing very serious. We’ll go through the symptoms and evaluate it day by day.” <\/p>\n
— The Redskins have the seventh most passing yards in the NFL, but they have only completed 56.5% of their attempts. \u00a0 Joey Galloway and Anthony Armstrong both have seven receptions on the season, but Armstrong has been on the field a lot less than the number two wide-out Galloway. Team leaders TE Chris Cooley and WR Santana Moss each had seven catches in the victory over Green Bay<\/p>\n
— If left tackle Trent Williams and right tackle Jammal Brown are both unavailable for Sunday\u2019s game against Indianapolis the Redskins will have Artis Hicks move from right guard to right tackle, Will Montgomery will play right guard and Stephon Heyer left tackle. — Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, who left the team last week after the death of a family member traveled from Nashville, Tenn. to his hometown of Hartsville, S.C., to bury his brother on Tuesday. Haynesworth is expected to arrive at Reskins Park Wednesday night but his status remains unknown for Sunday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts\u00a0 <\/p>\n
— Former Redskins receiver Devin Thomas was claimed off waivers by the 0-5 Carolina Panthers. Thomas who played one offensive snap in four games couldn’t get playing time on a team with 38 year old Joey Galloway as a starter, 2009 practice squad member Anthony Armstrong and Roydell Williams in regular roles. The Panthers are last in yards per game and second-to-last in passing yards per game, and top receiver Steve Smith only has 13 receptions <\/p>\n
— Strong safety LaRon Landry was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Landry recorded a game-high 13 tackles, and produced both of the Redskins turnovers during the 16-13 overtime victory.\u00a0\u00a0In five games, Landry has one sack and 52 tackles, if he continues to play like this, he should be in the Pro Bowl.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
— Clinton Portis who turned 29 on the first of September and was averaging 4.0 yards per carry before he was injured with a torn groin muscle , is motivated by numbers to get back on the field. Portis needs 109 yards to reach 10,000 his career\u00a0 and trails the Redskins all-time leading rusher John Riggins by 680 yards.<\/p>\n
“I got no doubts that I’m going to be running the ball again this year, I got no doubt that I’ll recover from this injury and be back out there to help my teammates. There’s a lot of motivation to get back in there to hit 10,000, You don’t come this close … I’ll be there, no ifs, ands or buts about it. There was a time I didn’t think about 10,000 yards. I wanted Emmitt Smith numbers (18,355), but now, just being able to get 10,000 and join an elite company would be a great tribute.” <\/p>\n

— The Redskins have filled the open spot on the practice squad after adding RB Keiland Williams to the active roster by signing WR Roy Small, a 5′10″ and 180-lb. undrafted rookie free agent from Ohio State University. — Guard Derrick Dockery was inactive on Sunday, Dockery who had never missed a game in his eight-year career split time with Kory Lichtensteiger during the first two games of the season but Lichtensteiger has started at left guard since Week 3 . — Outside Linebacker Brian Orakpo has 15 sacks in 21 career games Orakpo was credited with two sacks on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers on Sunday giving him four for the season. <\/p>\n
