The 2007 NFL Draft is less than a week away, so THN is taking a look at each position’s top five prospects. Up next are the running backs: <\/p>\n

\nName: Adrian Peterson
\nClass: Junior
\nSchool: Oklahoma
\nHeight: 6\u2019 2
\nWeight: 218 pounds<\/p>\n
Peterson possesses a great combination of size, power and speed. He shows excellent field vision and patience at the point of attack. He is a punishing back that will wear down a defense and is capable of carrying the ball 20-25 times per game. Peterson will be the first back taken.<\/p>\n

\nName: Marshawn Lynch
\nClass: Senior
\nSchool: California
\nHeight: 5\u201911
\nWeight: 215 pounds<\/p>\n
Lynch is an instinctive runner with both size and speed. He is a tough inside runner and very effective outside the tackles. He’ll be very good in the passing game as a receiver out of the backfield, or picking up the blitz. He may not go in the top half, but he shouldn\u2019t make it out of the 1st round.<\/p>\n

\nName: Antonio Pittman
\nClass: Senior
\nSchool: Ohio State
\nHeight: 5\u201910
\nWeight: 207 pounds<\/p>\n
Pittman shows good initial burst and adequate straight-line speed; he has the quickness and body control to cut back at anytime. For his size he is very good in pass protection and has reliable hands, but needs to improve his route running. Will be the 3rd or 4th back taken.<\/p>\n

\nName: Kenny Irons
\nClass: Senior
\nSchool: Auburn
\nHeight: 5\u201910
\nWeight: 203 pounds<\/p>\n
Irons’ vision and patience as a runner are very good, and he shows good initial burst through the hole. He keeps his legs moving after initial contact and will break lots of tackles with his lower-body strength; he\u2019s a true down-hill runner. Will not go in the first round but should be a first day pick.<\/p>\n

\nName: Brandon Jackson
\nClass: Senior
\nSchool: Nebraska
\nHeight: 5\u201910
\nWeight: 210 pounds<\/p>\n
Jackson is a shifty runner that is elusive enough to make defenders miss, he can stop and start with ease and has great balance and body control. Jackson is an instinctive and tough runner with size-potential. He should be selected mid-draft.<\/p>\n
