Each week, THN will choose their three players of the game at each position. Here are the selections for week six: <\/p>\n

Offense: Santana Moss <\/b><\/p>\n

Moss had another big game at the expense of the Kansas City Chiefs defense, racking up a career high 173 yards on 10 receptions. Moss also caught two touchdown passes on the day, the first from four yards out and the second from 78 yards. On his second touchdown reception, Moss ran a screen pass straight to the sideline, turned upfield, and used his blazing speed to reach the endzone. The screen play was used often by Joe Gibbs<\/a> in 2004 but it was never as successful with Laveranues Coles. After five games, Moss leads the NFL with 631 yards receiving and has brought the big-play ability that was severely lacking from the Redskins offense last season.<\/p>\n

Defense: Cornelius Griffin <\/b><\/p>\n

The Redskins defensive line, led by Cornelius Griffin, was very active against a very good offensive line. Griffin led the defense with 7 tackles and recorded the Redskins only sack. Chiefs quarterback Trent Green was pressured all game and threw for only 181 yards and 1 touchdown against the NFL\u2019s seventh-ranked pass defense. The defense also held the Chiefs high-powered ground attack to just 96 total yards rushing.<\/p>\n

Special Teams: Derrick Frost <\/b><\/p>\n

Frost averaged a career-high 46.8 yards per punt and had one touchback in the fourth quarter. The second-year punter did a good job of pinning back lethal returnman Dante Hall. Late in the second quarter, Frost let off a 54-yard punt that pushed Dante Hall back several yards and led to a return of -1 yard. The 54-yarder tied a career high for Frost. Also on that play, Frost laid out Chiefs wide receiver Marc Boerigter on a block, much to the delight of special teams coach Danny Smith.<\/p>\n
