He was an offensive lineman for the Washington Redskins for 14 seasons from 1980 to 1993.

While attending Clemson University from 1976-1979, he earned All ACC honors.

Bostic To Washington

Philadelphia signed him as an undrafted free agent in 1980, but Washington quickly snatched him away later that same year.

General Manager Charley Casserley watched Bostic play both center and guard at Clemson and came away impressed. Though he played guard as a senior, Casserley thought he was a better center, so that’s where Washington put him.

Bostic quickly established himself as a reliable and hardworking player. By his second season in D.C., he had earned the starting job and held it for the remainder of his career.

Peers and coaches alike respected him for his relentless work ethic and strong leadership both on and off the field. A quiet but determined player, who led by example and set a high standard for his teammates.

Three Rings For Jeff Bostic

“Bosco” was a key member of the Redskins’ legendary Hogs offensive line, which helped lead the team to Super Bowl victories in 1983, 1988, and 1992.

Bostic is the only center in NFL history to snap to three different Super Bowl winning quarterbacks! He also appeared in 18 career playoff games and had nine career fumble recoveries.

Clemson University inducted Bostic into its Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993, followed by his induction into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

The Washington Redskins inducted him into their Ring of Fame in 2015. He is also one of the 90 Greatest Redskins.

When inducted to the Ring of Fame, he was asked what he attributed his longevity to.
