Possible QB options for 2019?

I'm absolutely fed-up with mediocre QBs coming here and trying to salvage this train wreck.
Teddy B, Fitzpatrick, Tyrod et al....why?

It did not work with Spurrier or his successors. It won't work now.

I'd much rather roll the dice in the draft. At least then you have hope.

So I know this thread has kind of gone all over the place from where it started. We've heard a lot of opinions about what you'd like the team to do at QB. I'm curious though: what do you think the team WILL do at quarterback this season?

I’m not saying Tyrod Taylor is the answer to our prayers but he could definitely run the offense and hold down the fort while we get out of salary cap hell and wait for a better year to draft a QB.

There’s no reason to go draft a quarterback just because we need one unless we have somebody we really like to draft.

He is a good fit for our offense, he takes care of the ball, and does not figure to be expensive.

TT's functional, I agree. But he depends on a good running game to be competitive.

Always seemed way too erratic with the Bills, but maybe Gruden can coach him up.

It may mean something or it may mean nothing but every mock draft I've run thus far has the NY Giants taking Drew Lock at #6. I may have mentioned once or twice this draft has a dearth of QB talent so if the Skins want Lock it looks like they have to move up. It won't be three firsts and a second expensive but it could be out of their comfort zone.

Best possible scenario would be to draft a qb in the 1st or 2nd round, sign Ryan Fitzpatrick (will be cheaper than other vets due to age), cut ties with injury proned McCoy, and go with Josh Johnson as the 3rd string. So you have:

1. Rookie QB / Fitzpatrick / Johnson - depth chart

Seen some suggestions that the Cardinals might like to take Murray and trade Josh Rosen. Anyone willing to give up this year's second round pick for Rosen?

I didn't see enough of him last year to have an opinion on him, so I'm curious if anyone here feels strongly about him one way or the other.

Not only is wheeling and dealing for Rosen a no-brainer, it's a necessity.

We'll probably give up a king's ransom because anyone with two eyes can
see the situation we're in, though, not because Rosen is the next Brady.

At least not from what I saw of him last year.

I'd accept the 2nd rounder for Rosen, but doubt that'll be enough. Makes perfect sense for our situation though

Rosen got upside but I'll pull the trigger on Brissett who did much more with the loses he took compared to Rosen. Brissett is only 26 at half the cost of Rosen. He's very mobile, have a cannon and the intangibles. Thats if I was going to TRADE.

I'm just not a big fan of Rosen. I just see something in him that I feel will not allow a team to get over the hump. Gut feel. Similar to what I had about Cousins.

I mean his highlights look aiiight.. At least now we dont have to give up the farm if Az wants a kings ransom.. We also have a qb now and an option to take the bpa and roll with Keenum. Im ok with what ever happens honestly- so long as we dont mortgage the future with multiple picks for Chosen Rosen

I like Foles for the Jags. That was a pretty good team if their quarterback wasn't terrible.

Really looks to me like only the Giants, Broncos and Dolphins are in the early QB market this draft. And all of those are debatable.

Alex Smith was certainly an upgrade over Cousins - that's not really saying much AND the whole Cousins fiasco was horrendous for this franchise

there's a few good decisions and very few, really good decisions that are completely wiped out by bad and really bad decisions

there's a reason this franchise is in the mess it is in and why most people in the media and the NFL think it is one of the bottom 5 franchises constantly

freak injuries and bad luck have nothing to do with it

Draft a WR, even though the last first round WR the Redskins drafted and who did well was: Art Monk, 1980. Before that? Charley Taylor. Drop Doctson and Richardson.

We know about Josh Doctson, and the second round flops in the Zorn years, and the guy (Rod Gardner?) who complained when Joe Gibbs did not consult him on how to run the offense. Before that was Westbrook. Ugh.

Maybe someone in the front office can pick better?

At QB, Keenum is good enough to fill the space until 2020.

You guys must be delusional if you think drafting a WR is a good idea [-X

In fact, it's the worst decision you could possible make.

1) The modern WR is a primadona. He craves attention all the time.

2) That me-me-me attitude is most frequent with high draft picks.

3) Since we're basically starting from zero with yet another QB,
it's highly unlikely a top rounder WR gets the ball consistently.

4) Realistically, most WRs ride the pine for at least one season before they play.
Drafting a high round one creates little impact for the upcoming season.

5) Worst case scenario, you draft a highly paid primadona WR that builds unwanted pressure
because he's not playing yet he thinks he can, making him the spotlight of our season.

In conclusion, thanks but no thanks. If we're going for broke
go for a QB or QB depth. Everything else is secondary.

Stay at 15 and draft Lock or trade down and draft Lock. There isn't much difference between him and Haskins as far as arm strength and you don't have to give away draft picks to do it. If not Lock then Daniel Jones. It would be a mistake to trade up and get Haskins. A slightly better Jameis Winston. I think Daniel Jones is better. Lock could be even better but could also be worse. Lock is a poor man's John Elway or a Jeff George. Daniel Jones is a Drew Brees type but taller.

I don't know how much truth there is to it but I'm hearing at least three teams are interested in Josh Rosen and that at least one team has already offered their 2nd round pick for him. If that's the cost I hope the Redskins are out. They can easily draft a QB prospect this season and another one next season. They need two or three new QBs anyway. None of the ones currently on the roster are the long-term answer.
