Thanks, that's a good explanation Riggo.

I've realized the draft is just a big lottery. The more picks, the better.
But this Rosen trump card is unusual. I'm honestly piqued about the whole thing.

Let's hope for the best!

Kinda crazy all the mock drafts have us trading for him... With or without our 1st rounder.

Is it that obvious to the outside world? Or are there insiders leaking?

A lot of folks have nyg trading up to get Lockk too... So Im stsrting to see that prospect fade away

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Echo echo echo.....

A good qb will definitely increase our chances at a playoff run... We saw what an ok qb did (was leading the East) last year minus Guice and some key additions. So yes, we ARE a good qb away.

FO this that etc etc over and over.. Good grief

Movers and shakers week. I expect things to get extra spicy.

Draft week! A small oasis in the pitiful desert between February and September.

I sure hope this Kyler Murray thing is smoke. But I can't help wondering why we just didn't bite the bullitt and trade for Josh Rosen on a rookie QB deal who is the best QB in this whole deal. We are so worried about giving up too much for him when all we have ever done is waste picks on players that never panned out. Yes Rosen would have been expensive maybe a 1st rounder and maybe a 3rd next year let's say as the worst trade scenario for the Redskins. So What!! We would have a real good QB finally.

Now we are going to gamble on a QB with the same pick we could have used to trade for the real thing. If Josh Rosen would have come to the Redskins and lead us to multiple playoff births and maybe even the the grand prize because he is good enough then what ever draft picks we had to give up to get him would be worth it. It's not like we couldn't do our homework and find a quality pass rusher or Guard or receiver later in the draft after we secure the most important position with a player of high quality like Rosen

He not only helps the offense but helps keep the defense off the field as well. We could have made the Cardinals an offer they couldn't refuse on a great QB and the most important position in football and we are being stingy with the 15th pick. Unbelievable!!!!

Anyone who thinks we are going to get a player who would make more of a difference to this team than Rosen with the 15th pick is Bruce Allen in the flesh. I would have loved to get the best pass rusher or OL or TE with the 15th pick but we have mucked this whole thing up so bad with Alex Smith Kirk Cousins and countless others that we don't have that luxury anymore. We have or had a chance to dig ourselves out of this hell hole with a great QB like Rosen by just giving a 1st round pick for him and we can't even figure that out. If they draft Haskins they are sure enough some no drafting bozos

Please say we are not out on Rosen. I wish we could have another Sonny Jurgensen again. Sonny i kneel in the long shadow of your excellence.

Hod Hamnit Dan hire me as the GM and I guarantee I will get us the talent to get in the Super Bowl. HAIL !!! to the HOGS

Yes, that would seem the most logical thing.
But I fear the Cards will push too hard to see who offers the most for Rosen.

I'm not sure we have the ammunition to make the deal happen. Or even the will power, honestly.

Colt McCoy is looking less and less like an option:

Colt McCoy underwent a third procedure on his broken leg.

According to coach Jay Gruden, McCoy suffered a setback because he and the team were too "aggressive" in their attempts to get him back on the field late last season. "We didn’t give it time enough to heal the right way," Gruden said, "so they went back in and did a small procedure to make sure that thing is on track to be full strength by the season." McCoy reportedly could be back with the team next week, but this is beginning to look like an injury that will linger.

Lol Sonny9td.... Draft hasnt even stsrted yet.

I think Rosen hasnt proved much more (if any) over the top prospects though. I actually enjoyed watching Haskins, he was a beast last year! All of these kids are a gamble tho, and yes there is a possibility Az wants to much to pay. Im ok with passing on him if the bidding war goes nuts. If thats the case trade up for Lock- extra year on rookie deal

There is one other QB we might get away with if we decide to get one in the 3rd or 5th. Jason Stidham. You want a QB with tremendous arm strength and touch. Check out this review. He could be the sleeper of this years QB class. I will say this. If he can't read a defense or has happy feet or stares down his receivers he is not going to make it.

Stidham “lacks elite size,” Jeremiah writes, but is tall enough and has tremendous arm strength.

“I was quite impressed after watching him spin it at the Elite 11 camp a few weeks ago,” Jeremiah writes. “The 21-year-old is very accurate in the quick game and shows the ability to change ball speed. He really excels throwing the deep ball coming off play action, and he does a good job using the width of the field to give guys plenty of room to run under the ball.

Looks like they are going to get Haskins by all the reporting. Damn. He isn't going to work. He folds under pressure and he is going to be under pressure relentlessly. Might as well get Hockenson if this is their plan. They need a mobile QB like Alex Smith with a better arm. but they are going to muck up again and get Haskins.. IsHaskins OK? Yes but i don't see him taking us to the playoffs. He has a good arm but he is going to get sacked and lead the league in interceptions unless he has all the time in the world. That aint going to happen. Damnit to hell. If you're going to trade up get Murray. This is going to be typical Redskins picking the wrong one if this goes down

Stidham is just as good if not better and can be had rounds later. Here we go again

Im ok with Haskins.. Dont see it happening though.

With good coaching he has a great arm- over 50 tds??? I watched only a little of him play, but its better then Colt- and we can let him learn from Keenum. Wouldnt call it as bad as you seem to think

I wouldn't trade up for any of the QBs available in this draft and I wouldn't give a 1st for Rosen. I'd accept Haskins as value at 15. He's only had 1 college year so will have more to learn than some other QBs

There is also a report out there from NBCS Washington which says owner Dan Snyder is taking over the first round of the draft.
The same report points out the last time Snyder did that was in 2012, when Washington moved up to No. 2 and took Robert Griffin III. If we trade up to get Haskins and give away more than one pick for a one year QB with strong arm and all his warning signs listed above we deserve the most inept owner in the world award.

I'll let him slide with Daniel Jones but we still shouldn't trade up to get him. Rosen maybe. Maybe. Only a child would trade up to get one of these QBs when we could get Hockenson a QB of the same talent in the 3rd round. Dan will you please not muck this up!

No argument there.

Accurately. She say yes some say no. Most QBs can throw accurately with time. Nothing special there.

I'm beginning to think Drew Lock will be there at 15. He is our man if not Rosen or actually i would be OK with Stidham. If Dan wants to get away with a slightly risky draft strategy waiting for Stidhan as our 4th pick in the 3rd could be a playoff team with 3 studs before him chosen. That could work.

Lock was quested as saying he'd rather be picked late and sit behind Brady for two years than be picked by a bad team. How do you think that's going to play with teams looking for a QB?
I don't think it means anything to a team that wants a QB. Nothing at all

I know this. If Dan trades up to get a QB he has a head full of rocks Now if he trades up for Nick Bosa or Josh Allen that's a different story. That is someone worth trading up for. You hear me Dan?? Trading up for one of these QBs is just nuts.

If the Cardinals thought that Josh Rosen might be good enough to be a starting QB don't you think they would do anything they could to build around him and if they think that he's not good enough to be a starting QB then they would be very fortunate to find some idiot to give high draft picks to take him off their hands

If Jay Gruden and Doug Williams think that Josh Rosen would be a good fit here then they should try and make a trade for him but it shouldn't be be a high draft pick
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I kinda think Haskins could be a lifeline for Gruden this year. Going 7-9 with Keenum isn't going to keep him employed at the end of the year IMO. If they're able to show some progress with Haskins, I think he could make a different case to stay. Will be interesting to see how they approach it.

Anyone have odds on who starts in September?

Most don't complete 70% of their pass attempts.
Unless they are wide open by design NFL receivers against mostly always college not pro DBs in single coverage. Although he can't help that and got them the ball.

Oops sorry already made that point
